I’ve contemplated having a garden room for an art studio for years, looking at various companies with reservations about each one for different reasons. None of them were quite right for me. After another search this summer I found Cube Garden Rooms. Their google reviews were outstanding so I booked a consultation with Dan and visited the showroom.
He instilled confidence in me that I would not be disappointed. My decision was made – I paid the deposit and liased with Dan thereafter. He came to check a few queries I had before the build began. Dan was there every step of the way, consulting with me about details, what I wanted and making suggestions if I wasn’t sure. Dan reassured me throughout which is so important when spending that kind of money. The skip was booked by Cube for waste, and delivery and collection were on time.
Thereafter Damien stepped in for the build. He and his colleague Brian were fantastic. Once the groundworks were complete, every piece of the build was cut and constructed onsite – it’s a bespoke building, not a ‘kit’. I saw them working every day and no corners were cut. Damien takes huge pride in his work, and with Brian the two of them worked as a synchronised ‘A Team’. They are craftsmen. Everything went to plan, they knew exactly what they were doing and did it well.
Dan returned to do the electrical phases as the build progressed – once again I was consulted about where I wanted the sockets and switches, what kind of lighting I wanted etc. The electrical installation was done with minimal fuss and disruption. I’m delighted with the results – I went for track lighting so that the spotlights can be positioned on individual paintings on my ‘gallery walls’. The outside lighting looks fantastic at night – making the room look even more spectacular.
Not forgetting the plasterer who was amazing – the finish is the best I’ve ever seen. Once the room was painted Damien and Brian fitted me a hanging system for my paintings. They also kindly put up the new decorative garden screens I bought for the patio area to compliment the room, and wrapped the decking around the corner of the building to resolve a step on to the footpath at the side. A few finishing touches were sorted out over the following few weeks after the build was completed.
It’s rare that I feel that a service is of such quality, and that I can completely trust in the standard of work where pride and integrity are evident. In this case it’s been exceptional. The room looks stunning, I’ve been working in it since – its cosy, light, solid and beautiful, an absolute pleasure to be in and just a few steps away from the house.
The Cube Team have been a delight to deal with, they are honest, decent, hardworking professionals who know their trade. I recommend them unreservedly.
